In the event of an emergency with your horse, pony or donkey, please call the numbers listed above. We will always get to you as quickly as possible. Paton and Lee always has at least TWO equine veterinary surgeons on emergency call - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

While you wait for the vet to arrive, advice is always immediately available over the telephone.

Emergencies are our top priority, but this also means that routine appointments sometimes need to be rearranged at the last minute if an emergency occurs elsewhere. Please be understanding if you have a routine call rearranged because of an emergency elsewhere - we will do our best to keep you informed and contact you as soon as possible about any delays.

To contact the emergency vet out of hours, please dial the emergency mobile number which is 07894 682937. This number is only available for out of hours emergencies when the office is closed. At all other times please dial the normal office numbers. 

An out of hours fee applies to all out of hours calls - see our CURRENT PRICE LIST for details. Our normal hours are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm and Saturday 9.00AM-12.30PM. All other times, including bank-holidays, count as out of hours. Emergency calls made after 8am or before 5pm on weekdays do not incur an out of hours fee..

Paton and Lee is signed up to the Safer Horse Rescues Register of Equine Veterinary Practices. For further information on the Safer Horse Rescues Scheme visit www.saferhorserescues.com. We work closely with all of the emergency services, especially the Fire and Rescue Service and their specialised Animal Rescue Teams. All of our vets have received additional post-graduate training for emergency equine rescues.

Equine Transport

It may be necessary to transport your horse, pony or donkey to the clinic at Hoo Hall for certain procedures and care to be provided. If you do not have your own horse transport, the office is able to provide details of local transport companies. A link list to local horse transport companies is also provided below:
