Equine Laboratory

We have our own in-house laboratory, where we are able to perform laboratory analysis on a range of different samples. Among the services we can offer at the practice are: haematology and biochemistry analysis of blood samples; analysis of synovial fluid; faecal worm egg counts; ringworm culture and analysis of hair-pluck and skin scrape samples; neonatal IgG (maternal antibody) tests on foals; progesterone hormone tests on brood mares; peritoneal fluid sample analysis. For all other laboratory work we use a range of specialist equine laboratories that provide a very fast turn-around on results and accurate professional analysis of samples. The services we can send away include biopsy samples; tracheal wash and bronchoalveolar (BAL) samples; gastric, duodenal and rectal biopsies; strangles serology (blood) samples and strangles culture / PCR and many many more.
