Past Events - Client Evening - 17th March 2015
On Tuesday 17th March 2015 we held the first of our popular FREE client evenings for 2015. The theme of the evening was "Equine Medicine Updates - what we learnt in 2014" and the Henry Dixon Hall was packed to the rafters with our wonderful clients, all keen to learn as much as possible.
The evening featured three short talks plus plenty of time for questions, and there were lots of them, especially about the very worrying condition of atypical myopathy, about which we still have so much to learn. As always, food and drink were provided thanks to the wonderful team at Paton and Lee, especially Jo Martin and Gina Ingleton.
We were delighted to be supported in hosting the talks by Merial Animal Health, who were also represented on the day by Rosie King, their equine specialist, who talked about equine influenza. We were also delighted that Claire Akers from Dengie Horse Feeds supported the evening and provided client information sheets on the prevention of colic and the signs of symptoms of atypical myopathy. The sheets can be downloaded below:

The talks given were:
Equine colic - what we now know about its prevention and treatment. Tony Lock MRCVS, Paton and Lee. Watch his talk below:
Atypical Myopathy - what we learnt from the 2014 outbreak and what we need to do next. Mariana Castro Martins DVM MRCVS, Rossdales Equine Hospital.
Equine Influenza - UK outbreaks in 2014 and what we've learnt about the disease. Rosie King, Equine Specialist at Merial Animal Health.
Our huge thanks go to each of our speakers for their time and hard work in preparing the talks. Our thanks also to the team from Paton and Lee who helped to set up the hall for the evening and who stayed behind afterwards to help clear eveything away. We hope to see you all again in October for our next client talks.
