COVID-SECURE EQUINE VETERINARY CAREWe are now able to offer all routine equine healthcare appointments. We are also offering our usual half price visit fee 'zone days' so that you can save on any routine veterinary care. Until the end of June 2020 we are also offering a 'back-on-track' vaccination offer for anyone needing to re-start or start a primary vaccination course for the first time. The second vaccination in a primary course wil be free of charge but the usual visit fee applies. Please contact us with any enquiries so that we can discuss your situation and make a risk assessment.

We have increased our office opening hours. The office will now be open from 8.30am until 5.30pm Monday-Friday and 9.00am-12.30pm on Saturdays.
Our emergency service is unaffected. We will continue to have at least 2 vets on call 24/7 if you need us for an equine emergency. Call 01376 513369.
Our out-of-hours fees remain unchanged. All day-time emergencies will be charged at the normal rate. Emergencies between 5pm-10pm and 6am-8am Monday-Friday, 12.30pm-10pm Saturdays and 6am-10pm Sundays incur an additional £45 fee. Emergencies between 10pm and 6am on any day incur an additional £60 fee.
We require PAYMENT AT THE TIME for ALL work carried out please. This applies to ALL clients, even if we know you really well and have done your work for decades. We really appreciate your cooperation.
In addition to our usual FREE telephone advice / texts / Facebook messages / WhatsApp / emails etc, we are now offering a tele-medicine consultation scheme: for important but perhaps non-emergency situations, we may need to get additional information about your horse before we decide whether to attend in person or give treatment and prescribe medicines remotely. If we feel that a tele-medicine consultation is necessary, we will inform you PRIOR to beginning the consultation that it has gone from being a FREE advice phone call to being charged at our normal rates for consultations (£55 including VAT for up to 15m) no visit fee (obvs). We may need to video-call you or get photographs/videos of your horse. Payment for the consultation and drugs will be required before any drugs are posted or left for collected. If we decide at any time during a tele-medicine consultation that an emergency call-out is required, no tele-medicine fee will apply.

Our advice for horse owners is:
DO continue to call or message us for advice, reassurance and emergencies in the normal way. We are here to help!
DO wash your hands if visiting our clinic in an emergency: on arrival and when leaving. Soap, washing facilities, hand sanitisers and signs are available in the toilets at the front of the building
DO make sure to deal with any underlying health concerns you have about your horse sooner, rather than later.
DO ask us if you need help with attending any equine emergency. If you are having to self-isolate, we will be able to help by bringing a vet student or nurse with us.
DO NOT shake hands with our vets / nurses (or hug them / kiss them ... even if they are particularly handsome)
DO NOT attend your emergency in person if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 (cough, high temperature, shortness of breath) - nominate an alternate handler or ask us to bring a handler.
If you are worried about having a vet visit but you require advice, call us. We can receive videos and photo messages and we are always happy to give free veterinary advice over the phone.
