2021 LOCKDOWN - SAFE EQUINE HEALTHCARE

COVID-SECURE EQUINE VETERINARY CARE

Following the latest UK Covid-19 Lockdown (January 2021) we have been issued with new RCVS guidelines about the veterinary work we are able to continue. At all times the safety of our clients and team are paramount, so please be patient if you have to delay any routine work until after the current lockdown. We are continuing to offer our usual half price visit fee 'zone days' so that you can save on any non-emergency veterinary care.

• Office hours now 8.30am-5.30pm Monday-Friday and 9.00am-12.30pm Saturdays

• Routine and emergency healthcare with risk assessments and social distancing, following the RCVS flow-chart to guide us.

• Payment at time required for all clients please

• Tele-medicine consultations available at normal consult price

DO continue to call us or message us for advice, reassurance and appointments in the normal way. We are here to help!

DO wear a mask at all times when with your vet or at our clinic - even when outside. The mask should cover your mouth and nose.
DO keep away from your vet as far as is possible. Tie your horse up for their examination and stand back.
DO use the santising hand spray when visiting our clinic: on arrival, after opening or closing gates and when leaving.
DO travel to the practice alone, or with as few people as possible. Any extra members of your group should stay in the vehicle at all times.
DO call the office on arrival at our clinic, then wait in your vehicle until a team member comes to help.
DO make sure to deal with any underlying health concerns you have about your horse sooner, rather than later.
DO ask us if you need help with attending your appointment. If you are having to self-isolate, we will be able to help by bringing a nurse with us.
DO NOT attend your appointment if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 (cough, high temperature, shortness of breath) - nominate an alternate handler or ask us to bring a handler.
DO NOT visit the practice unless essential to do so. No social visits are allowed to see horses between drop-off and collection.
If you are worried about having a vet visit your yard in person, but you require advice, call us. We can recieve videos and photo messages and we are always happy to give free veterinary advice over the phone.

We have increased our office opening hours. The office will now be open from 8.30am until 5.30pm Monday-Friday and 9.00am-12.30pm on Saturdays.

Our emergency service is unaffected. We will continue to have at least 2 vets on call 24/7 if you need us for an equine emergency. Call 01376 513369.Our out-of-hours fees remain unchanged. All day-time emergencies will be charged at the normal rate. Emergencies between 5pm-10pm and 6am-8am Monday-Friday, 12.30pm-10pm Saturdays and 6am-10pm Sundays incur an additional £45 fee. Emergencies between 10pm and 6am on any day incur an additional £60 fee.We require PAYMENT AT THE TIME for ALL work carried out please. This applies to ALL clients, even if we know you really well and have done your work for decades. We really appreciate your cooperation.In addition to our usual FREE telephone advice / texts / Facebook messages / WhatsApp / emails etc, we are now offering a tele-medicine consultation scheme: for important but perhaps non-emergency situations, we may need to get additional information about your horse before we decide whether to attend in person or give treatment and prescribe medicines remotely. If we feel that a tele-medicine consultation is necessary, we will inform you PRIOR to beginning the consultation that it has gone from being a FREE advice phone call to being charged at our normal rates for consultations (£55 including VAT for up to 15m) no visit fee (obvs). We may need to video-call you or get photographs/videos of your horse. Payment for the consultation and drugs will be required before any drugs are posted or left for collected.
